Thanksgiving?
A list of things I don’t understand about Thanksgiving:
- How I can’t peel my eyes off the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade.
- Why I didn’t think to turn the sound off the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade ten years ago.
- Why I always resist the walk around the hill my parents insist on doing, but always end up disappointed when we’re done.
- Why Thanksgiving dinner is so early and why I still snack incessantly throughout the day.
- How stuffing can look like dog food, but taste so good.
- How the pumpkin got such a good gig as the premiere Thanksgiving dessert when it’s a pumpkin. Ick. Ew. Bleh.
- How I swear I’ll never eat again after the dinner, but I’m always up by myself at midnight making a turkey sandwich and trying to find Mystery Science Theatre 3000 on the satellite.
Tough year ahead. I’m thankful for editors, friends, and family.

Love the blog. I hope you have a happy and productive year and keep the thoughtful and entertaining articles coming for a long time. Gotta disagree about the pumpkin pie though. Whipped cream or ice cream on Mom's warm pumpkin pie is what I am looking forward to this afternoon. Oh yeah! Get out the big belt.
Ah yes, late night MST3K: a true Thanksgiving Day tradition. I wish I could find my scrapbook tape and have myself my own Turkey Day marathon...
I know where my shoebox of MST3K tapes is. But, no time. We leave for Vegas at 11 in the morning for a friend's 40th birthday bash. (Although, my brother emailed me from across the country today asking me where the Sampo was.)
I only wish I could have found MST3K to watch on Thanksgiving. Ah, those were the days...
No kidding on the Pumpkin pie!
On rare occasions I can handle it, but not often. Now, pumpkin BREAD on the other hand is quite tasty. But for pie, make mine pecan. Or cherry, if off-season is allowed.
